Victory Day in Ukraine is an eventful public holiday often consisting of:
Official greetings to war veterans.
A public display of Ukraine’s armed forces.
Presidential speeches.
Concerts featuring Ukrainian pop stars singing popular wartime songs.
Now May 9 is noted as the Victory Day over Nazism in World War II instead of the Victory Day established in Soviet period. Thus, in 2016 officially this holiday in Ukraine is celebrated for the first time.
"Let the Lord will rescue us from invasion of strangers, will help to exempt our Homeland from an aggressor, from uninvited guests. Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory to Ukraine!", - Poroshenko has told.

An official symbol of celebration of the Victory Day over Nazism in World War II, as well as Day of memory and reconciliation is the flower of red poppy - the standard symbol of celebration of memorable days of World War II in the world. The slogan of both memorable days is "1939-1945. We remember. We win".
